Meet the Doula

Hi! I am Bethany Walker.

I am a Christian Birth Doula, Overnight Postpartum Doula,  Childbirth Educator, and a mama!

I was adopted as a young child, and not long after, my family became missionaries overseas. During college, I met my husband at a last-minute retreat for missionary kids. We fell in love quickly and were married in 2018. Just five months later, I found out I was pregnant with our first child!

Like many first-time moms, I had no idea what to expect during pregnancy, labor, or delivery. I tried to research on my own, but I didn’t fully understand my rights or how to advocate for the care my baby and I truly needed. Out of fear, I agreed to medications and interventions I hadn’t originally wanted. I also had no real tools for coping with the pain or staying mentally strong throughout labor.

During my second pregnancy, I was determined to do things differently. I studied my rights, trained in pain management techniques, and prepared myself in a much deeper way. While the experience still wasn’t perfect, the difference was night and day. Even then, I found myself pushed into decisions I wasn’t fully comfortable with—and that’s when something shifted in me. I knew I wanted to be part of the change, not just for myself, but for other women, too.

I felt a deep desire to help women understand how beautifully God designed our bodies—to stretch, shift, and bring life into the world without unnecessary fear or interventions. I knew firsthand how intimidating birth could feel, and I wanted to help others replace that fear with faith—leaning into the Lord’s grace, peace, and strength.

That passion led me to start Renewed Strength as a Birth Doula. Since then, I’ve also become an Overnight Postpartum Doula and a Childbirth Educator. The name Renewed Strength comes from Isaiah 40:31:

 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Today, we have three beautiful children and hope to grow our family even more. It’s my greatest honor to walk alongside growing families—offering support, encouragement, and Christ-centered truth through pregnancy, birth, and those tender first weeks of postpartum life.
