Meet the Doula

Hi! I am Bethany Walker.

I am a Christian Birth Doula, Overnight Postpartum Doula,  Childbirth Educator, and a mama!

I was adopted as a young child and we soon became missionaries overseas. In college I met my husband at a last minute missionary kid retreat. We fell in love and got married in 2018. I was pregnant with our first 5 months later!

I had no idea what to expect with pregnancy, labor or delivery. I tried to do my own research but I still was not aware of my own rights when it came to mine and my child's care. I allowed fear to push me into certain medications I had not wanted and I had no way to mentally manage or cope with the pain.

With my next pregnancy I did much more research in standing up for the care I deserved and trained myself in pain management techniques. My experience was not perfect but the difference was night and day! I realized, however, that I was still forced into doing things that I was not comfortable with. I decided I wanted to make a change for myself and for others.

I had this huge desire to help myself and other women understand just how God carefully designed our bodies to grow, stretch, shift and change in order to safely deliver our children into this world while avoiding unnecessary interventions. I understood the fear towards birth and wanted to help take that fear away by encouraging them to lean into the Lord and receive the grace and strength He so generously gives! I started Renewed Strength as a Birth Doula and since then have become an Overnight Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator. Renewed Strength is from Isaiah 39:40:

"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

We now have three beautiful children and hope to have more one day! It’s my passion and deep honor to walk alongside parents through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood—offering support, encouragement, and truth grounded in God’s Word every step of the way.
